Entrepreneurship

Some people need a job. Others need to build one.

Self-employment is not a consolation prize. For many people in Jharkhand it is the most realistic route to a decent income, and it needs its own support system.

The real problem

A skill and a business are two different things.

A person can be an excellent tailor and still fail as a tailoring business. Pricing, finding customers, managing working capital and surviving the gap between doing the work and being paid for it are separate skills, and almost nobody teaches them.

Most enterprise support is a business-plan template and a loan referral. That is not support. What actually decides whether a small enterprise survives is the first customer, the cash-flow gap, and whether there is anyone to ask when something goes wrong.

  • Mentorship from people who have actually run a small business
  • Market and buyer linkage, not just a business plan
  • Pricing, costing and record-keeping that survive contact with reality
  • Structured routes to early capital and the documentation it requires
  • Peer groups, because running a business alone is the quiet killer
From idea to enterprise

How the enterprise track works

01

Test the idea

We pressure-test what you want to build against real local demand before you spend money on it.

02

Build the basics

Costing, pricing, record-keeping and the paperwork that unlocks banking and credit.

03

Find first customers

Market linkage is where we spend most effort, because the first sale is the hardest one.

04

Survive year one

Mentorship and peer support through the first twelve to eighteen months, which is the real test.

Enterprise types

Small businesses, built to last past year one

We are early. No enterprise has yet been launched out of this programme, and we will name each one here as it starts trading rather than describe businesses that do not exist. The photographs on this page are illustrative and will be replaced with our own programme photography.
