How we collect, use and protect the personal information of learners, donors, volunteers and partners.
This is a plain-language statement of what we actually do with your information. It is written by us rather than copied from a template, it describes a small organisation with a simple website, and it has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer. If anything here is unclear, ask us and we will explain it.
If you message us on WhatsApp, we hold your phone number and the conversation. If you subscribe to updates, we hold your email address. If you enrol in a course, volunteer or donate, we take the details we need to run that: your name, how to reach you, and enough about your situation to place you in the right programme or issue your receipt. We do not run advertising trackers on this site, and we do not ask for anything we do not need.
To run the programme you signed up for, to stay in touch with you about it, to follow up on whether it led anywhere, and to report honestly on our work. Where we report outcomes to a funder or publish them here, we report numbers and patterns, not people, unless you have agreed by name.
We do not sell your information, rent it, or pass it to anyone for their marketing. We share it outside the organisation only where you have asked us to — introducing you to an employer, for example — or where the law requires it.
We ask before we photograph anyone, we say where the photograph will be used, and we write the consent down. Anyone can say no without it affecting their place in a programme, and anyone can change their mind later and have the photograph or story taken down. No participant photograph or story appears on this site without documented consent — which is why there are none on it yet.
Email addresses submitted through the subscribe form on this site are stored on our own server and are not shared with any third-party mailing service. You can ask us to remove yours at any time.
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to lakshmifoundation.org@gmail.com, message +91 96081 81115 on WhatsApp, or post to Papilo, Tisri, Giridih, Jharkhand 815317. We will reply within a reasonable time and we will not ask you why.
